Superiority

Yellow brown powder. Soluble in nitrobenzene, xylene, tetralin, slightly soluble in ethanol, acetone, benzene, pyridine, toluene, o-chlorophenol. It appears blue-purple in concentrated nitric acid, and turns orange after dilution. It turns maroon red in alkaline insurance powder reducing solution. Mainly used for dyeing and printing of cotton, viscose fiber, silk, polyester, vinyl cotton and polyester cotton. Because it is a severely light-brittle dye, it is often used for color matching and for the manufacture of organic pigments.
