Product Description:
Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) is a tertiary amine with the chemical formula C5H13NO2. It is a clear, colorless, and hygroscopic liquid with a mild amine odor. MDEA is widely used in the gas treatment industry for the selective removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from natural gas and other gas streams. Its high selectivity for H2S over CO2 makes it particularly valuable in processes where the retention of CO2 is desired. Additionally, MDEA is employed as an intermediate in the production of various chemicals, including surfactants, emulsifiers, and corrosion inhibitors. Due to its low vapor pressure and good thermal stability, MDEA is also utilized in the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and in water treatment applications.

Application:

It is mainly used as desulfurizing and decarbonizing additives, semi-finished products of insecticides, emulsifiers, fabric additives, intermediates of anti-tumor drugs nitrogen mustard hydrochloride, catalysts of carbamate coatings, fiber additives, etc.
