Superiority

Purple brown powder. Insoluble in water, ethanol, acetone, soluble in benzene, slightly soluble in toluene, xylene, chloroform, nitrobenzene, o-chlorophenol, pyridine, and tetralin. It appears blue in alkaline solution of insurance powder and red-purple in acidic solution. It is used for dyeing and printing of cotton, linen, silk, vinylon, and also for dyeing polyester-cotton, viscose cotton, vinyl-cotton and other blended fabrics. It is also used to dye dark blue, dark gray and other colors with vat blue, gray and other color dyes and to produce organic pigments.
