2-(Methylamino)ethanol, also known as Methylaminoethanol orMEA (not to be confused with Monoethanolamine), is a colorless liquid with the chemical formula C3H9NO. It has a characteristic amine odor and is hygroscopic. This compound is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of various chemicals, including surfactants, emulsifiers, and corrosion inhibitors. Additionally, 2-(Methylamino)ethanol finds application in the formulation of pharmaceuticals, as a solvent, and in the production of dyes and pigments. Its properties as a weak base and its reactivity make it a versatile component in the chemical industry.

Application: 

Used for the synthesis of anion exchange resin, water treatment cationic flocculant, polyurethane catalyst, resin cosolvent, aqueous system PH regulator, epoxy resin low temperature polymerization promoter, pharmaceutical intermediates, textile additives, corrosion and scale inhibitors and dye synthesis intermediates.
