5-Amino-2-methylbenzenesulfonic acid is an organic compound, soluble in water, ethanol and ether and other organic solvents, fat solubility is poor. It is red in acidic condition and yellow in alkaline condition.

Application:

1. Widely used as dyestuff in textile, leather, paper and other industries, available in red or orange color.
2. Mainly used as an additive and blue phase modifier in the synthesis of pigment red 57.
3. It can also be used as a pH indicator because of its acid-base color-changing properties.
