Chemically, it is a combination of two compounds, 4,4'-dinitrocarbanilide and 2 - hydroxy - 4,6 - dimethylpyrimidine. This unique composition endows it with strong anticoccidial properties. In the poultry industry, Nicarbazin is of great significance. It is widely used to prevent and control coccidiosis, a common and often harmful parasitic disease that affects chickens, turkeys, and other birds. It works by interfering with the life cycle of coccidian parasites, specifically inhibiting their development and reproduction within the host's intestinal tract. This helps in maintaining the health of poultry, improving feed conversion efficiency, and enhancing overall productivity.
