Product Description:

Sodium metabisulfite is soluble in water and glycerin, and the aqueous solution is acidic and slightly soluble in ethanol. It is also hygroscopic and reacts with sulfur dioxide in the air to form sulfite and sulfuric acid.

Application:

1. Food grade: Used as bleaching agent (e.g. candy, cake, bamboo shoots, etc.); loosening agent (e.g. bread, cookies, etc.); preservative and fungicide (e.g. fruit juice, canned food, beer, cereals, etc.); inhibitor and freshener (e.g. lilies, seafood, fruits and vegetables, etc.).
2. Industrial grade : Used as printing and dyeing mordant ; Dechlorination after textile bleaching ; Sulfonation agent and reducing agent for chemical and pharmaceutical use ; Pulp bleaching agent, bamboo bleaching agent, wood bleaching agent ; Wastewater treatment agent ; Rubber coagulant hydrocarbon-formaldehyde adopted in perfume industry.
