Ferrous sulfate chemical formula FeSO4, the common is containing seven crystalline water FeSO4·7H2O ferrous sulfate, commonly known as green alum. Light blue-green monoclinic crystal, density 1.898g/cm3, molten in crystal water at 64℃. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is acidic. It gradually Withers in the air and is oxidized to a yellowish brown basic iron salt. At 300℃, all the crystal water is lost, and the anhydrous substance is a white powder.

Application: 

As a food iron fortification agent. China stipulates that it can be used for sweets and salt, the amount of use is 3000 ~ 6000mg/kg; In high iron cereals and their products (daily limit of 50g of such foods), it is 860 ~ 960mg/kg; 300-500mg /kg in dairy products and infant food; In cereals and their products, it is 120~140mg/kg; In the beverage is 50 to 100mg/kg.
